Every  day the immune system  is  under  attack  from  virtually millions of pathogens, like bacteria, virus, fungus etc. A strong immune  system  is  what  keeps a pet healthy  and  the pathogen  invaders  away.  Any  slight  change, be it increased pollution, stress, or poor diet, can lower the resistance and tip the  scales  in  favor  of the pathogens.

Purified bioactive beta-1,3/1,6-glucans support the animal’s vital defense mechanisms against pathogens such as bacteria, virus, fungus etc. Beta-glucans exert immunomodulatory effects in-vitro and in-vivo in experimental animal and human models. The main objective in supplementing pet food with beta-glucans is to encourage activation of the immune system. Due to its role in activating immune cells it is also used in arthritic disorders and inflammatory bowel disease.

Importance of exposure
In order for beta-glucans to affect activation of the immune system it is essential to use Beta-1,3/1,6-glucans of the correct structure and for this structure to be exposed for bodily immune cells to detect them. As the beta-glucans we supply have this functionality, they boost the efficacy of vaccines and support overall health during stressful times.

Use of beta-glucans is particularly suited for animals subjected to stress, or those subject to an increased disease risk, for example:

  • Animals in particular life stages: young, lactating, senior
    •In preparation of vaccination
    •Animals performing strenuous exercise
    •Stressful climatic conditions

Benefits

  • Strengthen the immune system
  • Enhance the protection against pathogens
  • Protect in periods of exceeded stress
  • Boosts the efficacy of vaccines

 Product application
Recommendation is to aim for an inclusion rate between 250-500 g pet metric tonne of finished product.
